Cat Ripingill launched her real estate career when she purchased a foreclosed duplex in Tucson, Arizona in 2009 as an investment. The property was a big leap for Cat’s first project; it was stripped of anything that could be resold. “The door knobs, light fixtures and thermostats were missing, one of the units didn’t have sinks in the kitchen or bath,” Cat explained. Once the duplex was ready to rent, she managed it on her own with the help of a handyman who lived close by. Since then, she has purchased and sold more investment properties in Tucson and Colorado Springs.
Originally from Arizona, Cat moved to Colorado in 2018 when her husband retired after 20 years serving with the Air Force in Search and Rescue. Immediately following his retirement, Cat and her husband moved into an RV and traveled for 8 months before settling in Colorado Springs. “We chose the Springs because of the quality of life you can have here; we are very active and love to be outside. My husband is attending UCCS for a Masters in Mathematics and my pups love Bear Creek Dog Park. I couldn’t imagine a better life anywhere else.”
Before moving to Colorado, Cat worked for 20 years in hospitality, planning and executing business and social events. While working in the field, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management from Northern Arizona University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with an Outstanding Senior Student Award. “My first career was in hospitality and event planning. COVID put a halt to events so my focus has shifted to real estate and fitness.”
Cat has also turned her hobby and passion for fitness into a career. She is a certified fitness instructor at Club Pilates and also coaches friends in her home gym. “I love to help people improve their quality of life by gaining strength and improving flexibility and movement.”
